What started as an addition to the family was followed by the right amount of puppy mischief, muddy paws, woodland walks, and quiet family moments became the inspiration of a children’s book that Corianna filled with nature, adventure, friendship, and love. Corianna is the author of “The Adventures of Moglin & Mochi”, a children’s book inspired by real-life experiences, family connections, a deep love for her dogs, and the simple joy of nature around us. Her storytelling brings together finding the adventures in our own backyard, imagination and authenticity to create the most meaningful stories that resonate with young readers and dog lovers alike. Moglin is a spirited and adventurous Mini-Brittany Cocker Spaniel, who is always ready to explore, and get muddy. While Mochi, a gentle and thoughtful Texas Heeler, prefers a calmer day but never leaves her best friend side even when mud is involved. Together, they are the best of friends that bring the warmth, big personalities, and heart to every adventure. Through her work, Corianna hopes to create children’s stories that celebrate curiosity about the world around us, resilience, courage, and the beauty of everyday life. Her goal is to inspire children’s imagination, strengthen family bonds with both two-and-four-legged members, and remind readers of all ages that the most meaningful adventures are often the simplest ones with the ones we love the most in the world that’s already around us.

I’m J.D. Harbor, a retired Army veteran writing contemporary romance inspired by movement, transition, and connection. My books center on characters learning to trust, open up, and build something lasting, even when life has taught them to keep moving.

I’m a mom, veteran, artist, folklorist, musician, and writer of folklore-inspired adult romantasy and YA portal fantasy (and the occasional academic article). After graduating from West Point and serving in the Army for ten years as a Military Police officer, I earned a PhD in Slavic Languages and Literatures from the University of Virginia. My doctoral dissertation explored narratives of historical warrior women among the Scythians, Slavs, and other Eurasian steppe nomads, who in turn have inspired my fiction writing. I have contributed several articles to academic publications in addition to my current and upcoming novels. When I’m not writing, I can be found racing triathlons, chasing after my son, or providing lead guitar and vocals for the underground metal band Olga's Burning Sparrows.
